Our Team

The nursery was established in 1994 but was purchased in July 2008 by Blue Sky Childcare who have invested heavily in it. Blue Sky Childcare is owned by Maureen Sheekey and Lianne Dixon. Maureen is our Nursery Manager who manages the day to day running of the nursery alongside our two deputies and Lianne is our Nursery Teacher.

Maureen and Lianne bring a wealth of experience to Mains Farm House Nursery and are committed to best practice. Maureen gained her NNEB in 1972 and has since gained her BA (Hons) Degree in Business and Administration, an MA in Integrated Provision for Children & Families and Early Years Professional Status. Lianne gained her NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education in 2003, she has since gained her BA (Hons) Degree in Business, Management and Administration, Early Years Professional Status, a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years, an Intermediate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education and Training, Qualified Teacher Status and a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Primary Education.

Maureen and Lianne have both worked extensively in both the private and public sector. Maureen was formerly a Senior Manager in Extended Services and Early Years for a Local Authority. Lianne was formerly a Children’s Centre Coordinator covering 4 Children’s Centre’s in County Durham.

Maureen is supported in the Nursery by two Deputy Managers who have both worked for Blue Sky Childcare since they took over the nursery in 2008 and they have a wealth of early years experience.

Senior Early Years Practitioners lead the learning in each room to ensure the nursery delivers outstanding care and education for all children. We have an excellent staff team who are highly dedicated and caring and are proud that they have chosen the special career of Early Years Education and Care. All of our staff are qualified to at least level 3 in Early Years and we have staff who are qualified to masters level in early years. We currently have an apprentice who is working towards her level 3 in early years. All of our nursery staff complete ongoing professional development which includes Safeguarding, First Aid and Food Hygiene.
